This is Abby! She is sweetest girl ever!! She was an owner surrender at a local high kill shelter. Can you imagine what she must have thought after being left at a shelter by her owners. Abby went to our vet and got an amazing report. She is heartworm negative and very healthy for her age! The vet thinks she is between 6 and 7 years old. Abby loves everyone, is house trained, is very calm, and loves to cuddle on the couch! She is AWESOME!!!!

This is Chandler! He is a very handsome and an exceptional boy. Our vet thinks he about 3 and he is very active for his age. He is super smart, knows his sit, down, and stay commands, is house trained, crate trained even though he doesn't need to be, loves other dogs, and loves to go for a ride. Chandler is one of the most awesome dogs that I have ever had the opportunity to rescue. I know he will be an asset to any family. Chandler is in need of a foster family or his forever home.

Meet Colonel, a one year old lab mix. He was turned into a shelter in western N C with his brother General. Colonel is the more outgoing of the two. He is super friendly and greets everyone he meets with his tail wagging full speed!! Colonel is in a foster home with other dogs and loves them. He learned the doggy door in just one day. FOSTER HOME NEEDED!!!! This is Concord. He was rescued from a shelter after being dumped by his owner. Concord knows the sit, shake, and down commands, loves to go for a ride, is crate trained, loves everyone he meets, and eager to please. He is very strong on a leash but this can be corrected with a little work. Concord is good with other dogs and thinks he is a lap dog. He is a big boy weighing 95 lbs and the vet thinks he is about 4 years old.

FOSTER HOME NEEDED!!!!! Meet Crawford! He is a 2 year old handsome boy that was saved from a shelter in the western part of the state. Crawford greets everyone with his tail going at full speed. NAME: Duke
Duke is a one year old, 50 lb Rottweiler mix who is searching for his forever family.
Duke has made a long journey in a few short months and has proven that he will make a wonderful companion for any loving family.
Duke had been posted on Craig’s list and had not been adopted. His owner was moving away, and when she was unable to adopt him out, moved out during one evening and poisoned Duke with rat poison and left him to die. Duke was discovered by the apt manager who was intent on calling animal control after discovering Duke in the abandoned apartment. The apartment manager was contacted by a volunteer who knew that that Duke may be euthanized by animal control. The volunteer contacted the apt manager and offered to take Duke in. Duke was immediately taken to a vet, nursed back to health over a period of weeks and now is a happy and healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention.
He gets along great with dogs of all sizes as well as cats.

NAME: Holly
THE SWEETEST DOG YOU WILL EVER MEET!!! Holly is a 1.5 to 2 year old female black lab with a fantastic personality. She is gentle and loving, preferring to be with her humans over anything else. She is great with other dogs, does NOT jump or pull on the leash. She will be wonderful with children of all ages. This super sweet girl came from a small, high kill shelter in Georgia. When we got her, she had recently had a litter of puppies and was very sick with pneumonia. We immediately got her to the vet where she was treated and is recovering nicely. FOSTER HOME NEEDED!!!!! This is Honey! Her name fits her perfectly. She was rescued from a shelter in TN that has a 86% euthanasia rate. She was one of the lucky ones and, now thankfully, gets a second chance at a wonderful life with a loving family. The vet thinks she is 1 years old. NAME: Lissa
Lissa, a predominantly black, one-year old labradorX female with white points on two feet and couldn't be a more loving, affectionate pup. she has a shiny, soft coat and has been completely vetted. Lissa has the predictable high energy and curiosity of a Labrador. We think she may have some German SH Pointer in her...she's a beautiful girl. With the right owner Lissa will make a wonderful, friendly, lovable, and loyal pet. W see that she seeks human attention and companionship. She gets along well with dogs, children, adults; she will chase cats if given the opportunity but accepts discipline when commanded to cease. Recommendations for Placement: Lissa would be perfect for a family that understands she'll need lots of attention, at least until she trusts that she won't be lonely. But let Lissa sit by your side, drive in your car, walk along the street, curl up at your feet -- she will be in heaven and a thoroughly delightful companion. So a family with slightly older children or a retiree who has time for her is preferred. She's needs to be treated as a family member. This is Midnight! She is a very sweet and happy girl. The vet thinks she is about 3 years old and weighs only 51 pounds. She is a great size. Midnight was picked up as a stray and was scheduled to be euthanized when one of our board members saw her picture and could not resist her beautiful loving face. Midnight is my foster so she is in a home with 5 other dogs and is great. I have not had to crate her at all. She is house trained, doesn't chew on things she shouldn't, can be trusted to have full run of the house, is very obiedient, and is very eager to please. She has been my shadow, every step I take she does also. She is great in the car also. Midnight is very excited when she first meets you but she calms down quickly.

NAME: Ruby
This is Ruby! Ruby is a very sweet girl, approximately 4 months old. She was dumped by a heartless person, along with her sibling, on a busy road in front of a high school. One of our wonderful volunteers went and rescued Ruby but her brother wasn't as lucky. He had been hit by a car. Poor baby!! Ruby is in a foster home now and is doing great. Ruby is crate trained, house trained, great with other dogs and cats, and a super smart girl, She is looking for her forever home.
Ruby had her first round of shots and wormer. She will get her second round of shots, get spayed, and micro chipped this week.

Wow!!!! What an awesome boy. This is Sampson. He is 7 years old and is looking for his new forever home. Sampson's parents are not able to care for him the way he needs to be. He needs lots of exercise and LOVES to play fetch. Sampson is a typical lab...loves the water and a ball. He is super smart, knows ALL of his commands, loves to go for a ride, has been through obedience training, and is very eager to please. I had the opporitunity to spend time with him today and, if I did not already have 5 dogs of my own, he would be be my dog. I absolutely LOVE him.
