About Our Non-ProfitLucky Labs Rescue, based in Charlotte, NC, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer run, foster based rescue group that focuses on saving as many Labrador Retrievers as possible.
Labrador Retrievers is one of the top 5 leading dog breeds in the country. Unfortunately, that means there is an overwhelming amount that end up in the shelter for a variety of reasons. Our volunteers work closely with and rescue dogs from high kill shelters locally and in the surrounding area of North and South Carolina. Oftentimes, this means we are rescuing dogs the day before they are to be euthanized and much of their history is unknown.
When Lucky Labs Rescue brings a dog into our program, each one is immediately vetted for vaccines, spayed or neutered (if appropriate), tested for heartworms, and dewormed for intestinal parasites. In addition, the dogs are temperament tested and put into our foster program while they wait for their forever homes.
